Happy New Year, My Wandering Souls!
With the New Year in full effect, it is time to fulfill all of those New Years Resolutions, as well as to taking a step closer to achieving our most desired dreams and goals. 2017 came with many blessings, but it also left me with quite a bit of heartbreak. November of 2017, it is a month I will never forget. I learned two very valuable lessons that month and it helped me grow into a much stronger person. Despite it all, 2017 was full of many blessings, love, and happiness. Now that 2018 is here, I have many goals that I want to achieve and with every passing day, I am a step closer to achieving them.
For the New Year, I wanted to share with you all one of my most beloved passions – writing. Ever since I was younger, I thoroughly enjoyed the art of writing. I have loved it so much that I even spent countless hours writing my high school and college papers, because I wanted to make them as flawless as possible. This blog has allowed me to share my thoughts, feelings, and a little inside look into my daily life. Aside from writing, my all-time favorite hobby has been photography. Those who know me, know very well that I am a firm believer of documenting every little moment through photographs. Now that my blog has come to life, it has given me the opportunity to share not only my thoughts, but also the little moments captured through my lens ♥
New Years Eve & New Years
A chilly, but memorable night. After spending the majority of time at home, because of the 20s degree weather outside, my handsome and I decided to welcome the New Year by going to Downtown Dallas and watching the Reunion Tower Fireworks Show from Trinity Groves. The past couple of years we had spent it with other family members, but this year we decided to make a bit more memorable – despite the weather of course lol. The view was spectacular and we will definitely be going back, hmmm maybe even make it a New Years Eve tradition? I’m not sure what we will be doing then, since 2019 is a year away, but I am sure it will be nothing but marvelous.
While waiting for the countdown and the New Year to arrive, my handsome and I decided to get some quick drinks around the little shops at Trinity Grove. Let me just say how IN LOVE I was with the good vibes coming from Beto & Son. This cute and fun little restaurant played Salsa Music and had a very hip, modern style. It reminded me of the times I used to bartend – back when I was in college and in my very early 20s! My handsome had ordered a margarita on the rocks and a liquid nitro piña colada. I was very impressed with the piña colada! It was very interestingly made and it was quite tasty as well! If any of you are ever in Dallas, I highly recommend stopping by that place or Trinity Groves in general. You will NOT be disappointed!
As soon as the clock hit 11:45 pm, we decided to head towards the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge. We were surrounded by numerous people, all awaiting for the countdown. As soon as the clock got down to 11:59 pm, the countdown began. Once the New Year finally came, the Reunion Tower was illuminated with hundreds of fireworks that left us with a very breathtaking view. Despite the cold, with it being in the 20s, but in reality a feeling as though it was in the single digits, we had an unforgettable night ♥
Every New Year will forever be extremely special to me, not only because it is the New Year, but because my sweet Golden Retriever, Jimmy, was born on this very day. Jimmy turned the big ONE this new year and we got to celebrate it with cake and many other goodies. To me, the highlight of 2017 was the day we brought Jimmy home. They say people fall in love at first sight, and let me just say, they are most definitely right. I fell in love with Jimmy the very first time I saw him. He touched the deepest part of my core that I honestly cannot express the feeling into words. He will forever be my New Years baby, my special baby. Jimmy is such an adventurous little pup that I am excited to see what 2018 has in store for us. We have some big plans for this New Year and I know that he will be very excited once we get to them. I will keep you all posted, as time permits.
As soon as my handsome got home from work, we took Jimmy to the store to go shopping for his birthday presents. We wanted him to pick out his own toys, so he could enjoy them to the fullest. He ended up really liking a Star Wars Chewbacca light saver that lights up every time he presses down on it. He was Chewbacca for Halloween, so as you can tell, he’s a bit of a Star Wars fan just like us lol. My sweet boy, I hope you had the happiest of birthdays. I LOVE YOU will forever be an understatement ♥
And with these last couple of photographs, I wrap up my very first blog post to you all. I hope you all enjoyed it, as much as my heart enjoyed writing it. I will continue to post as often as I can, and will continue to share those little life moments that mean everything. Happy New Year once again to you all, my beautiful wandering souls!
